Sardar Sarovar Dam gates open for 1st time after installation in Gujarat's Navagam.






Gates of the Sardar Sarovar dam were opened for the first time after installation in Gujarat's Navagam. In order to maintain the permitted water level of 131-meter gates were opened on August 09.

 The Gujarat government opened the gates of Sardar Sarovar Dam for the first time after its installation as the water levels reached an all-time high of 131 meters. Gujarat has been witnessing incessant rainfall during this season which led to a flood-like situation in several districts.

At Calico Museum one has the opportunity to see a collection of rare textiles such as royal tents, costumes, and carpets. The museum was established in 1949 and displays the 17th and 18th centuries ' collection of religious paintings on cloth, embroideries, brocades, silk weaves, and Kashmiri Shawls. The Calico Museum is situated in the Shahi Bagh Garden and is spread over 12 rooms and across two stories. Within the museum, the compound is another haveli  that exhibits a fine collection of bronze icons and paintings.
